Andrea, Assistant Programme Manager, AustriaAndrea Ausserwinkler, Austria, Assistant Programme Manager

Grüß` euch! My name is Andrea and I am from Salzburg, Austria. I am 24 years old and I just finished university. I did my degree in educational science. I have been involved in scouting since I was in the age of eight and have always been a very enthusiastic scout, impassioned by the concept and ready to pass on my personal scout philosophy.

I have been in leading brownies for seven years and now I am at Pax Lodge. I like travelling, being out in the nature and making music together.

I'm having fun in guiding games, organising activities and entertaining on cozy evenings with my guitar.

I am looking forward to work as a part of the Pax Lodge team, to experience the international idea of guiding and to organise and share activities and games. I`m lucky to have the opportunity to explore different cultures, to meet people from all over the world, to improve my English and to experience the big-city-flair of London.

Rachael, Assistant Guest Services ManagerRachael Marchese, Assistant Guest Services Manager, Australia

Rachael is from Melbourne, Australia and has been a member of WAGGGS since 1991 when she first became a shy little brownie. Since then, much has changed! Having been selected to represent Australia at SOAR 2001 and UNITY 2002, then volunteering at Pax Lodge for 14 months in 2005-2006 she became very aware just how global our movement is.

Guiding has kept her busy over the years as a leader of youth, a member of the State International Committee and the Coordinator of an educational puppeteering programme called Kids on the Block. Prior to her current position at Pax Lodge she worked for a Chiropractor here in the UK and before that was a Public Servant for the Police Force in her home city.

She currently works with a Guide unit in Sanderstead, Surrey close to her home in Riddlesdown and in her spare time enjoys Creative Writing, Photography and Travel.

Laura

Laura Hadland, Guest Services Co-ordinator: Office, UK

Laura comes from Gosport on the South Coast of the UK. She was a Brownie before moving abroad to Norway. It was while attending secondary school in Scotland that she obtained her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award – after enduring many a night in a rain soaked tent.

After deciding to study French at Bangor University in North Wales Laura was required to spend a year abroad working as an English assistant in a secondary school which she loved so much she extended it to two years.

She is looking forward to her time at Pax and learning more about WAGGGS and the great work it does around the world supporting girls and young women.
