Community work
Are you interested in doing volunteer work in the local London area?
You could participate in the Helping Hands volunteer week that allows you to experience Pax Lodge from behind the scenes, participate in a Pax Lodge event or do your own independent volunteering.
Helping Hands volunteer week
Volunteer your time and skills to the Centre through maintenance projects, programme development and enjoy London at the same time. Pax Lodge provides you with the opportunity to include a volunteer project as part of your stay at our World Centre.
Join an event
One of the key advantages of doing volunteer work during an event is that Pax Lodge staff will do the groundwork of organising the Community Volunteer Project.
We will contact a partner organisation, identify their needs and the ways in which we can support them, arrange the schedule, get supplies and arrange transport and meals. Then, all of the event participants, usually representing different countries, work together on the final planning and project work – such as designing and painting a mural or choosing and preparing crafts and games for children.
Pax Lodge event participants also have many fun and interesting opportunities to learn about different cultures in a hands-on way by participating in our international night, visiting the London theatre, touring contemporary and historic landmarks, experiencing a traditional British cream tea, and much more.
Independent volunteering
A final option is for groups or individuals to stay at Pax Lodge as independent guests and do a volunteer project on their own. If you choose this option, you will be responsible for contacting the organisation and making all arrangements for the project.
Get active! Make a difference! Come to Pax Lodge and you can join us in assisting the community! From cleaning up the park inside Hampstead Heath or playing chess with residents at Waterhouse Close to working with Johnson Controls you can really make an impact on the people of London.
