Volunteer stories

I can’t help but smile when I think about the time I spent at Pax Lodge. During my time there, I had so many wonderful experiences that have bettered me as a person. Whether I was creating a fantastic experience for the guests or adventuring through London, time flew by all too fast! For me, the best part was spending time with the other volunteers. Before you know it, they become your best friends. I highly recommend this experience to any Guide or Scout because not only will you come away with new skills and memories that will last you a lifetime, but you will also have sisters that live all over the world!

What about my stay at Pax Lodge? It was really big experience. It was mix of everything - hard work, lovely people, big friends, fantastic place, new experiences, etc. I know, I can´t go back to work at Pax Lodge , because I will miss all the people, which made Pax Lodge the second home for me. If I stand again before the decision to go spend whole summer at Pax Lodge as a volunteer, I will not hesitate - YES. I am glad I did it, because I will never forget it. And I have new lovely friends in whole world, which really miss me, but I know, I will see them again. In few years, but I will.

When I volunteered at Pax Lodge it was the best 5 months of my life... I’ve learnt a lot about myself, what I am capable of and what I can achieve.  Most of all I’ve met so many people and made friendships with some amazing women from all over the world. This made it all worth while and got me through the times when I missed home. I feel so very lucky to have been a volunteer and cannot wait to come back one day.

After 3 months of volunteer experience at pax lodge, I've become more myself wherever I am. During the stay, I got a lot of amazing friends, improved skills including English, and gained confidence. Moreover, I've already visited Pax Lodge twice in 6 months after I left, but every time I can still find my place here and make more friends - now I'd say I really understand the meaning of "A guide is a sister to every other guides". And with your sisters you know yourself better and become more yourself.
