Olave House
In 1959, Our Ark moved to Longridge Road, Earls Court, to gain more space. In 1963 it was renamed Olave House. It was Olave Baden-Powell’s dream that the World Bureau should be located next to the World Centre. She strongly felt that people working at the World Bureau should stay in touch with members of the Association.
Our Ark was located next to the World Bureau, but British housing laws following the Second World War stated that residential and business areas were to be kept separate. This meant that Olave House could not be located next to the World Bureau.
However, the move to Pax Lodge brought them together again.
